• Contact Details: Name, phone, email, address (if provided) for appointment management, communication, and emergencies.

• Relevant Medical Information: Details of any medical conditions or medications that might impact counselling, to ensure your safety and well-being.

• Counselling Notes: Brief, factual records of our sessions for professional use and continuity of care.

Lawful Basis for Processing:

I process your data based on:

• Consent: For non-essential communications (e.g., appointment reminders). You can withdraw consent anytime.

• Legal Obligation: For safeguarding and reporting duties.

• Legitimate Interests: For maintaining counselling notes (continuity of care, insurance, legal defence).

Confidentiality & Disclosure:

Session content is confidential. I will only disclose data if:

• You, or someone else is at risk of serious harm (I am legally and ethically obligated to report this). I will discuss this with you first, if possible, unless immediate action is necessary.

• Compelled by a court of law.

Data Retention:

• Contact Details: Deleted 1 month after counselling ends.

• Relevant Medical Information: Deleted 1 month after counselling ends.

• Counselling Notes: Retained for 7 years after counselling ends (insurance/legal defence). Data is securely and permanently erased after this.

Your Rights:

You have the right to: access, rectify, erase ("be forgotten"), restrict processing, data portability, object, and withdraw consent (where applicable). Contact me in writing to exercise these rights.
